Making a meat pie typically involves three main components: the Pastry, the filling and the assembly.

- For the pastry we need a flour( all purpose )
- salt to taste
- unsalted butter
- water preferably cold one.
For the Filling.
- 1 pounds of grinded beef
- onion finely chopped
- garlic( optional)
- carrot (optional)
- celery ( optional)
- dried thyme
- salt and pepper to taste
- Preheat your oven to 400f
2. Pastry: In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt, then add the butter and rub it into the flour mixture using your fingers until its look like a breadcrumbs. Gradually add little water until the dough comes together. shape the dough into a ball, wrap in a plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
3 . Filling :In a large frying pan, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion garlic, carrot , celery and the meat fry until the meat and the vegetable become tender. Using a spatula to stir from time to time, taste for salt and pepper.
4. Assembly: On a lightly floured surface, roll out two_ thirds of the pastry dough to fit the bottom of your pie dish, place the rolled out pastry into the dish, pressing it gently against the side. place in an oven and bake for 20 minutes.
